An 1848 United States Large Cent coin featuring the Liberty Head design. The obverse displays Lady Liberty facing left with stars around the edge and the year 1848 inscribed below. The reverse features the denomination 'ONE CENT' encircled by a wreath with 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' around the outer edge. The coin shows signs of wear and slight markings but is preserved in a cardboard holder.

On many of the coins you will see remarks that a previous owner has written as well as some price estimates, please ignore these comments on condition, rareness and pricing. We found that many of these comments on the coin guard were not accurate in our estimation.
Questions of authenticity: We have had many coin auctions and have a good general knowledge of coins however we are not "Experts", that being said we do stand behind our products. On the pickup day you may weigh or test the coins in any non-invasive way you desire and if you have ANY concerns you will not be required to pay for a coin that you have doubts about. Once the coin leaves the premises we no longer accept returns so all testing must be done before you take formal possession and leave the building. We will have a digital scale available for weighing.
